ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
·
Supervises delinquent offenders in a secure residential setting.
·
Must be able to learn and teach Rational Behavior Therapy Curriculum to residents.
·
Enforce rules and regulations
of the treatment program, including physical restraints for residents exhibiting
disruptive behavior.
·
Participate in activities
that address deficit skills in physical, cognitive, social, psychological and moral
functioning of residents.
·
Must be willing to wear
a uniform.
·
Transport and supervise
clients performing community service requirements.
·
Must conduct oneself as
a positive role model to clients at all time.
·
Prepares daily observation
logs, daily reports, property records, security check sheets, and activity reports.
·
Must be in good physical
conditions. Will be required to participate
in and lead daily physical training activities in a military style residential program.
OTHER DUTIES: Performs other
duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This
position will require participation in numerous activities, i.e. daily physical
training with residents, standing and walking for several hours at one time, and
lifting boxes, furniture, paper, etc.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
Pre-employment and random drug testing done.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: This position
requires an individual to work indoors in a well lighted, heated and air-conditioned
setting. The position also requires an individual to work outdoors during physical
fitness activities for clients, and during year-round community service activities.
Daily exposure to dirt/dust, fumes/odors, and chemical hazards. Seasonal exposure
to extreme temperatures, darkness or poor lighting, and wetness/humidity.
EDUCATION ~ SKILL ~ EXPERIENCE: Required - High School Diploma
or GED. Applicant must be twenty-one years of age.
Must be emotionally mature and be able to read, write, understand, and apply
departmental policies and procedures.
Individual will occasionally come in contact with the public, and must possess good
communication skills. No criminal convictions other than minor traffic violations.
Preferred
- An associate’s degree from an accredited college in criminal justice, sociology,
or psychology.
HOURS:
This position works various rotating shifts.
