Commissioner Will Jones
Experience

Graduated with a Finance degree from Baylor University

in the private sector as a stockbroker and in the real estate business

with analyzing and preparing budgets, cash management, and managing portfolios

to running McLennan County like a business, cutting wasteful spending and promoting government transparency

Family
Commissioner Jones moved to Waco in 1990 to attend Baylor University where he graduated
with a B.B.A. in Finance. He worked at a local Waco business to help pay his way
through college. This is where he met his wife, Merryl. They have been married for
13 years and have two sons, Grant and Reid.
Religion
The Jones Family are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Waco.
Community
As County Commissioner of Precinct 3, Will currently serves on the Waco MPO (Metropolitan
Planning Organization); TIF Zone Board (Tax Increment Finance); Heart of Texas Fair
Board and countless other organizations as appointed by the Commissioners Court.
Will's co-chairing of non-profit events began 10 years ago with the Cattle Baron's
Ball which was the most successful fundraiser of its time. He has continued to donate
his time over the years to the West Kiwanis, Waco Rotary Club, the American Cancer
Society, Cub Scouts, Muscular Dystrophy Association,
H.O.T. Soccer, Woodway Family
Center and Lake Air Little League. Will was also a candidate in 2010 for Chair of
the McLennan County Republican Party.
