**Scam Alert** There is a currently a collection agency representing itself as the McLennan County District Clerk’s Office.  It is attempting to collect private debts for credit cards.  The District Clerk’s Office will never call you about a private debt.  The clerk’s office does collect court costs and fines through a state mandated program.  However, you will have been to the Clerk’s Office and either been convicted of a crime or have been through a civil proceeding.  If you have any doubts about who is calling you, obtain a name and return phone number.  You may call the District Clerk’s Office at 254-757-5054 or 254 757-5057 to verify whether you have been contacted by the Clerk’s office.

The District Clerk can now e-mail documents to you for a flat fee of $3.00 per document.  The document will be in “tif” format.  If you are requesting a docket sheet this will be in a summary form and will be sent in “html” format.  Before calling to tell us you have not received the document, check your spam folder.  If you have an account with the office you can fax your request to the office and your account will be debited. You may request a document in person and request that it be emailed to you.  Payment must be made for the document in advance.  If you do not have an account and wish to use a credit card, remember that other charges will apply for the credit card usage.  Fax requests should include the name of the requestor, the cause number, the document requested, the method of payment, a phone number, and the return email address.  For governmental entities requests must be made by fax on the letterhead of your agency.  E-mail addresses for clerks are only for outgoing emails.  Requests will not be accepted or processed through a deputy clerk’s outgoing email addresses.
