Information About the Post-adjudication Facility
- There are 2 programs that comprise the department’s
post-adjudication services-the Progressive Re-Sanctioning
Program (P.R.P.) and the Court Ordered
Residential Program and Services (C.O.R.P.S.).
- The P.R.P. is an effort by the Juvenile
Probation Department to provide more effective monitoring of juveniles who violate
the conditions of their delinquent probation. At a court hearing the Juvenile Judge
may change the conditions of probation to include that the juvenile be placed in
the P.R.P. residential boot camp for 30-90 days. While in the P.R.P. the juvenile
will participate in family and individual counseling, life skills development, physical
training, discipline, community service and academics.
- The C.O.R.P.S. is a residential
program for juveniles who have been unsuccessful in traditional probation supervision
programs and those juveniles prone to develop a pattern of delinquency. The program
assists the juvenile to break his delinquent behavior patterns by mixing principles
of therapy, regimentation, mentoring and social work. The juvenile participates
in family, group and individual counseling, life skills development, physical training,
drill and ceremony, community service and academics for 6-12 months. A wraparound
program eases the juveniles’ transition back into the home, school and community.
- The Waco Independent School District provides
the year round educational services for both of these residential programs.
- Visitation is scheduled for Thursday evenings
and is limited to parents/guardians.
