Public Record Copy Requests
Copies By Mail
When requesting copies by mail, please specify, on the envelop if the request is for the Civil Division or Criminal Division.
Criminal Information
If the request is for criminal information, please include the party's date of birth, the full name, and the case/cause number, if known. If the case/cause number is not known, please include $5 for a record search, and $1 more for the certificate.
Civil or Family Information
If the request is for civil/family information, please include the case/cause number and the document or documents you would like copies of. If the case/cause number is not known, please include and additional $5 for a record search. The mailing address is:

Payment Types
Copies are $1 per page, certified or non-certified. We accept cash, cashier's checks, money orders, Visa, or MasterCard. Money orders made payable to McLennan County District Clerk. If payment is by credit card, the following information is needed to comply with your request:
- Address
- Credit card number
- Credit card type
- Expiration date
- Name
- Security number
- Statement allowing the District Clerk to charge your credit card for the transaction
Payments by credit card incur an additional convenience fee from the vendor.

Copies in Person
If you wish to purchase copies of public records in person, you may do so between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday in the Civil Intake Section located at:

Archived Files
Files created prior to the year 2000 may be in the County Archives. Files requested from archives are delivered at 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Your file will be pulled or delivered at the next available time.
