Arriving for Jury Duty
The City of Waco is diligently working through an update of water, sewer, and paving on downtown roads near the county courthouse. Currently Fifth Street is closed and under reconstruction between Washington and Columbus Avenues. Accessible parking in the alleyway is extremely limited, and is first come, first serve.
We are at the hotter part of Summer in central Texas and if you would prefer to park closer to the jury entrance, It is helpful to arrive before 8:15 a.m. This will allow you to go through security and be seated by 8:30 a.m.
Arriving for Jury Duty
While it is quite warm in Texas during the summer months, we have a standing order from our judges that jurors DO NOT WEAR SHORTS.

Jury trials are held at the County Courthouse. Each Monday or Tuesday that jurors are summoned for 8:30 service, those summonsed will use the Jury entrance in the alleyway behind the Courthouse.
When you enter the courthouse, you will pass through a metal detector and anything you carry will pass through an x-ray machine. Guns, knives, and other weapons are strictly prohibited. Purses, backpacks or any other type of bag carrying personal items must be clear or see-through.
Free parking is available in the parking lots in front of the county courthouse or records building.
Not all courtrooms have assistive listening devices available. Inform the clerk’s staff when summoned for jury duty that you will need assistance in hearing in the courtroom. Arrangements can be made for other assistance for jurors if you require an interpreter for the hearing impaired. Please contact the McLennan County District Clerk’s Office at 254-757-5054 with any questions or requests.
