Judge Peterson has dedicated his life to “service to others”.  It began at the age of seventeen when he enlisted in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged after four years.  He served in Germany, Italy, Viet Nam and several military locations in the United States.  He became attached to Texas serving in both Fort Bliss and Fort Hood.   
 After the Army he went to work for the city of Copperas Cove as a police officer.  While there he attended Central Texas College and earned a degree in Criminal Justice.  After five years of service to the citizens of Copperas Cove he went to work for the Texas Department of Public Safety in the Highway Patrol Service where he served the citizens of The Great State of Texas for over thirty-two years and specifically the citizens of McLennan County for thirty-one years.  
 
 Judge Peterson was appointed by the County Commissioners to complete the term of retiring Judge Wm. (Billy) Martin, on December 12, 2012 where he continues to proudly and honorably serve the citizens of McLennan County.  Judge Peterson and his wife Linda are blessed with three children and seven grandchildren.
