Ben Perry is a conservative Republican, and longtime resident of Woodway, Texas.

Ben began life in Waco in 1981 on an athletic scholarship to Baylor University where he was a three-year letterman under legendary Baylor Coach Grant Teaff.

After a brief stint as an insurance producer, Ben fulfilled a goal to enter a life in law enforcement. In 1987, Ben joined forces with the Woodway Police Department where he worked as a patrolman and firefighter until 1995 when he joined with Waco Police Department as a patrolman and detective. 

Since 2000, Ben has gained valuable business experience as a property/casualty producer and contract bond specialist for Sunbelt/Higginbotham Insurance Agency.

In addition to his insurance experience, Ben is also a co-owner of a Shipley's Donut franchise.

Ben is the proud Father of two daughters, Kaydi and Jill both graduates of Baylor University.

Served on several local boards including

The ARC of McLennan County, 

Family Abuse Shelter,

Midway Little League Board.

2003 recipient of the Generation 2000 Award from the Huntington Disease Society. 

Commissioner Perry understands the daily pursuits of local families trying to make it in tough economic times.

Ben has strived as County Commissioner to a reduced and streamlined county budget reflected by lower property tax rates while keeping Central Texas dollars in Central Texas by working with local contractors on county projects. Keeping a balanced budget is also very important.

 

Currently Commission Perry serves on many committees appointed by the court.

Ben was appointed by the Governor of The State of Texas to serve on the Jail Standards
Commission. 


Ben's experience in law enforcement and business, along with the support of his family, provide him the tools necessary to work on achieving his goals to make Precinct 4 a great place to live and work.
